Journey HWH jack is growling

On my way home from Florida this week I noticed that my passenger side front HWH jack growls when decending while the button is being depressed. Along with the growl there is a little shutter also....Slow to retract also...(had to pry up some and spray WD-40 but it finally retracted....Note that for 2 days I drove thru heavy rain and wet roads and high temps........Could road dust and dirt gotten up into the first set of seals?....before I call HWH I hoped some of you have experienced this and solved it...(WD-40?)...thanks for any input...RKL

I've occasionally had to clean the pistons with silicone to keep them operating smoothly. There are varying opinions regarding whether or not to use anything on the pistons but we all have out methods. If a good cleaning (and the covert use of silicone or whatever) doesn't solve the problem, you may have a mechanical issue. Then I would give HWH a call.

I had the same problem. I extended the jacks to the limit and sprayed them down with WD 40, then wiped them with a clean cloth. Works for now but don't know about long term.

Good luck

HWH Service SUCKS

Speaking of HWH when you do call them don't expect a fast answer. When they answer the phone the first words out of their mouth is HWH hold please. Then anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes later they come back on. You ask for service or price and BING sorry that line is busy can we call you back.

I am calling five days now, asking for Andrea who is supposed to get me pricing on new springs for my HWH jacks. Still no price and still no call back.

I might just have to have my dealer order the parts. They sure as heck don't like dealing with RV owners.

Regards Jim P.
