Question Journey Step Cover

I have a 2001 Winnebago Journey 36DL Diesel Pusher. The step cover has stopped sliding out to cover the step well. When I push the step cover switch, I hear a click behind the dash board, which tells me that there is some electricity getting to the step cover system.

I have crawled under the stair well, but can not see anything that would extend or retract the step cover. I can easily pull the step cover out of it's storage and push it back in with no restance.

I have searched this forum for information regarding this problem, with no results. I am fairly handy mechanically, but am on the road full time, so I do not have a lot of tools with me or a dedicated work space.

Can anyone give me an idea where to find the mechanisms thah operates the step cover and/or the wiring diagtam? I have looked in the Winnebago wiring manuals that are on line, but there is no real information to be had.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Wade

Open your front generator access door on the right side on the firewall there is a black control box with a round cylinder type pull up knob. Pull the knob up to turn it left or right it enables you to adjust the air pressure after the adjustment push the knob back in, hopefully that will work.

GG1:

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestion.

There must be a difference between my 2001 model and your 2002. I could not find a control box with a pull up knob on my firewall. I looked at both sides and tried to trace any air hose I could find to see if it led to a control box and had no luck.

Thanks again.

On our 2002 models isnt it right above the slide out step cover. Mine is.
If it accidently gets in the wrong position the slide will not work.
