Hello
I'm a new member and owner of a 1995 rialta. Am wondering how to transport my kayak with my rialta. The roof is pretty high to put it on the roof.
I saw a photo of someone who secured their kayak to their ladder. Ideas? Thanks.

Not the same problem but perhaps an idea. I built a rack for our tandem bicycle that attaches to the trailer hitch and sticks up vertically, this was built entirely of aluminum conduit, 2" to fit over the trailer ball which is bolted through using a SS bolt. This bolt is also the lower attaching point for a pair of 3/4" aluminum rails that support the rear wheel. For the kayak it would mean having a loop that cradles the bow or stern and a movable loop further up to cradle the bow. You will need to pad the aluminum so you don't damage or mark up the boat.

I have two Kayaks to transport. They are Pongo 100's and the length of each is 10 foot. They weigh 47 lbs each. I have no idea how I am going to tote them. I do not think there will be any way to put them in the truck bed with the Kiwi slide. I do not know if I could custom make a carrier to attach to the back of the trailer and put them back there vertical. Could the back body of the trailer handle 94 extra pounds hanging on it? As a last resort I guess I could put them inside the trailer and latch them down. If they do end up going inside the trailer, I will have to make custom body bags for them so they don't scratch any interior areas and latch them down. I am open to any and all suggestions.

A friend of mine with a 5th wheel transports his kayaks (2) on the roof of his truck. Plenty of room and they extend over his windshield facing forward.
If the Rialta person would consider a small ladder or stool to put them on his roof, this may (or may not) work. The stool/ladder would come in handy when washing/waxing the Rialta. I use the stool on my Jeep and it makes it a lot easier to handle the kayak from the side. (different height I know.)

Thanks Joe,

Maybe I can put some kind of carrier on the back of the 5th wheel with a hitch. I will see if Tule makes a vertical carrier that could utilize a hitch and latch as well to the ladder. I like the suggestion of putting them on the truck roof, but I wonder if I would have enough room turning without compromising the cap on the front of my 5th wheel. I guess I could have the kayaks hang more over the hood of the truck and less in the back. I will have to see what kind of carrier I could come up with. There must be some way to tackle this dilemma without having to put them inside the trailer. Appreciate your photos and suggestions.
