Keyless entry touch pad '05 Vectra doesn't work

I have recently purchased an '05 Vectra and the touch button key pad on the outside of the coach is not working. The dealership says it may be outdated and not worth the cost of repairing/replacing.
Does anyone know about this?

First thing to try is to see if you can reprogram it. Take a look at this thread How to reprogram my Keyless Entry for instructions. If that doesn't work you may need to replace the system. Unfortunately the original keypad is no longer available, but Winnebago has a new supplier and has a wiring adapter which will allow the use of the new system with the existing wiring in the coach. (I don't know whether you could replace just the keypad with the new one or whether you would need to replace the whole system, however.) Winnebago should be able to answer that question for you.

The "bad news", the manufacturer of your keyless entry system went out of business and the system is no longer supported. Winnebago disconnected my keyless system and stated it was beyond repair. My system could not be reprogrammed or repaired/replaced.

When I purchased my Horizon used in Forest City my Button Key Pad did not work but the Key Fobs did. I removed the Button Key Pad and cleaned the contacts on the connector plug. I applied some dielectric grease and reinstalled the pad and low and behold it worked and still does. Don't give up on the pad until you check the wire connection. I was told by a service tech that many times that due to moisture and corrosion the problem with key pads is the connection.

Just had ours fixed on our 2005 Horizon.. Winnebago now has a complete system replacement with a new and improved keypad, and 2 new keyfobs. It works great! They are made by a different company. The replacement was covered by our XtraRide extended warranty. So nice to have it working!
