I have a 2004 Meridian 36G with the square tiles on the floor of the kitchen and bathroom area. One of the tiles under the edge of the kitchen cabinet and one under the edge of the shower stall have shifted a little pushing against an adjoining tile causing it to start to buckle up off the floor. I could trim the moving tile edge just a fraction but that would just leave a very small gap on the opposite edge of that tile.

If these moving tiles were out in the open I could lift them up and reposition them with new adhesive, but part of both of them are under the cabinet or shower stall so can't see how to re-position them.

Any one else with this problem or have an idea how to correct it before one of the tiles gets buckled enough to crack. The shower stall might be loosened from the two walls and raised enough to remove the tile (which I'd rather not do) but don't know how to correct the one under the edge of the kitchen cabinet.

I supposed with a very sharp flooring knife the moving tile could be cut right at the very edge of the cabinet/shower stall then shifted just a little but wonder if this could be done without leaving a noticable gap there too.

Wonder what response Forest City might have for this situation?

Funny how we always have the same problems...

This happened to me a couple of years ago except my tiles were migrating under the cabinet and shower stall. This left a very noticeable gap with the next tile.

I ordered 6 new tiles from our friends at Lichtsinn, thinking it would be happening to more tiles. I just carefully cut away the moving tile at the edge of the cabinet & shower, then trimmed a new one to fit. Frankly, I thought the movement might continue and the problem would reoccur. That was at least 2 years ago and so far so good - no more movement on the ones I replaced and no new areas of movement. I'd like to blame it on bad adhesive or bad installation of the originals, but why would we have the failure in the same place?

As the DW and I always say, "It's all part of the adventure!"

Sometimes I could use a bit less adventure...

When we purchased our coach used in 2005 the tile under the cabinet appeared to have shifted over the one next to it under the edge of the cabinet. I thought is was a install problem at the time. I took out all the screws attached to the wall and jacked up the cabinet enough to get the tile loose. I used a good glue and repositioned it correctly and It has been good to this day.

I bought several new tiles when we first ordered our coach new (had no idea they'd be over $6 a piece, thought $2-$3 would be an outrageous amount) thought we'd probably drop something and damage a couple but never figured on something like this. I told them at Forest City both times I was there for repairs that the floor in the bathroom made a creaking popping sound in the mornings when it was walked on for the first time. All they did was tighten the screws holding the shower stall to the walls of the coach. Something about that floor is moving.

Like you, I could use just a mite less adventure, would make a more relaxing travel.

I have a 2005 Meridian 34H. I had the same problem in the bathroom and under the dining table. I used a hair dryer to loosen the tiles, repositioned them. When the weather temperature got warm, they buckled again. I pulled the tiles up and applied good adhesive to them. Problem solved so far, it's been two years. The area under the shower is tough. If you can find replacement tiles, I recommend that fix.
