Kitchen Upgrade

This weekend I started on my long laundry list of upgrades to my 2007 Sightseer 35j. Right now working on installing a splendide combo unit in the galley. If you ever wondered what was behind your cabinets review the pics.

The first pic is with the cabinet removed, the second is what it looks like with everything re-routed so I could install the splendide. Replacing stove with induction cooktop and microwave with convection microwave.

Pun not really intended. Just kinda came out that way. Freudian slip ?

When I get to induction cooktop I'll post pictures. I have to get the microwave installed first before I finish working on the base cabinets.

What kind of cooktop? I bought a 2 burner True Induction to replace my 3 burner propane Atwood. Just received it today.

I'm just installing a single burner true induction, recessed into counter. Also will be storing a second one, use as needed. Thru my 4 rv's I've owned used the 4 oven's a total of 3 times. Used 1 burner on original cooktops maybe 4 times. Cook mostly outside or microwave. Upgrading the microwave to convection type.

Pushedaround. Good luck on your conversion. Are replacing your countertop? I have to replace mine due to the splendide add.

No, my new stovetop is wider, but not as deep, so I just have to make up a new front for the counter. Since I will have about 5" to fill, I was thinking of making a butcher block insert that folds back on itself with hidden hinges. It could stay folded when traveling, and then flipped forward to give us a 10" deep cutting surface. When our slides are out, the 5" that would be sticking out isn't in the way at all.

Hey, good luck with yours as well, and I will post some pics when I get it done. Probably be a few weeks though.

Sounds good. Looking forward to the pics. It will be longer before I get to mine. But I will be posting pics.

Gutted. Starting on new cabinet frames. Real wood same design except microwave. It is getting enlarged.

Update

Installed new cabinet frame and opening for microwave. Now I can make the face frame and vents for the microwave. Only the doors are original. Panels and face frame are new and Real wood.

New convection microwave was a lot deeper than original.

Looks nice! I have my induction stovetop and am going to start on it this week, just as soon as I get the new rear camera monitor installed.

Here's 2 shots, the first of the old stove removed with the counter cut and the second with the new induction stove top installed and wired. Now just waiting for the butcher block to show up so that I can finish the installation.

Kitchen Upgrade

Well, it's almost done. Just have to wait a few days for the silicone to set up hard & I will route the counter to set the stovetop in flush. This will hold us for now though.
