My surge tank "bit the dust" today ...
I searched the forum ... and saw that you needed to access the tank from both inside and outside in order to replace it ... we moved all of our clothes out of the closet and removed the floor panel so that I did not have to pay the tech to do that ... thank you forum
We went to the Freightliner dealer in Salt Lake City, UT. They had the tank in stock ... and they had us out of there on on the road again in less than 4 hours ... This is the biggest repair facility that I have ever been too ...

Skigramp, Once might say it's just like having "Membership Rewards!" Glad to hear how positive your service experience was and how you were able to save time and money.

SkiGramps....most of us who have replaced the surge tank are now putting a temporary cover in front of the tank to keep the sun and uv rays off the plastic..We remover it when traveling....UV breakdown is the major cause of these tanks leaking...I use a piece of carpet with velcro....RKL

Skigramps:
I'm the guy with Ernie's brother/sister 2004 Journey 39W which lives in Arizona. We had our surge tank replaced two and a half years ago--we have more and hotter sun than you get up north. Freightliner Oasis in Tolleson, AZ did the job for us.
Off-thread, but we are having the front cap and the curved closeout panels along both sides resprayed dark blue this week. The clear coat flaked off up top and the front cap paint was going away. Again, from the extra sun we get in Arizona. We still love our Journey and will keep it until we quit RVing.
Good luck!
