I have an 07 Sightseer 35J. I opened the door to the motor home and the steps would not come down.To make a long story short the chassis battery was low on voltage, after putting the battery charger on the chassis battery the steps worked fine. I was surprised that the chassis battery operated the steps and not the coach battery is this normal?

It kinda makes sense to me. Our coach battery dicsonnect switch is on the dash and if I had the door closed with the step retracted and opened the disconnect switch, the step wouldn't operate. Could be a safety hazard if you didn't look before stepping out. Using the chassis battery for power would generally be more reliable, IMHO.
