I have a 2003 and have used it a lot up and down I weigh around 245 to 250 with no problems in 5 years. The new ones say 225 pound .Is 20 to 25 pounds going to break it or not.Now I wonder if all these years I was overloading the ladder on the back. The new ones are black but look the same. What do you think.

I'm around 270 #'s and I've been using the ladder that is rated for 225#'s without any problems. I just step lightly and don't jump around on it.

If you take out some of the steps and look closely you may find a lot of corrosion and you will see how flimsy its put together. On my 99 I have repaired one broken place. I no longer use mine myself, although the young skinny kids at wash place I use still go up it.

If it gives away you may end your rving career.

Ladders are generally "under rated" by a fairly good amount.. I'm over 300 pounds and use 250 pound rated ladders with more or less impunity.

HOWEVER.. The first time on the ladder pay serious attention to how it feels, and look at the mounts.. The original roof ladder on this coach the mounts wanted to pull out.

I replaced it with something much, much stronger.
