We're preparing to order a new Adventurer 38J. Does anyone have an idea on lead time from the factory?

When I ordered mine in December 2003, the dealer said it all depends on what model they are making at the time of your order, how many orders are ahead of you, and if any dealer who has one ordered for the lot will let his drop back to make room for yours. In other words, he said it could be between 6-12 weeks. I think mine was around 9 weeks, the best I can remember. Not much help for you though.

I think we ordered ours mid-February and took delivery late May. The coach came in a few days before we could get to the dealer to take delivery.

Best of luck with the new coach!

We ordered our 38J in late August, 2007. We took delivery in late November which was exactly three months later. We had been told it would only take 6 weeks! (I shouldn't have believed the dealer.) Your time will vary depending on the time of year and how far away from Forest City that you live. By the way, we took a factory tour last November and they were building all different models on the same assembly line. They must have a neat computer system that orchestrates the delivery of the proper chassis, wall parts and other options in the correct order for the rig going down the line!

That's the wonder of taking the factory tour! Even in the metal stamping area where flat hardware pieces are created they are gathered together and put into bags with the coach's S/N and paperwork. When a new order is sent to production all the components, wherever they are or start out, get an ID and the fascinating thing is how they all come together at the correct time on the assembly line.

We Ordered our Winnebago Outlook 31c on December 17th and just took delivery on Feb 20th. Almost exactly 8 weeks.

Good luck. The waiting can be hard.

Okay, thanks for your replies. When is the "Busy Time of year" at the factory?

I wouldn't think lead times are a problem right now - they too have had to lay off some workers due to lack of sales.

Good travels with your coach...
