leaking diesel upfront

I have a 2000 Journey DP, it is being stored in my driveway for the Winter. Last month I started the generator and ran it for about an hour under load. A while after that I could smell diesel. I just figure because I ran it, that's what it was. Well here it is almost a month later and I can still smell it. I looked under the front and there was yellow snow from the diesel. I didn't see it dripping but why is it there? I plan on running it again this coming weekend. I will check under and see if I can see what is happening. Do I have a big problem, or is this normal? I had a diesel leak from a loose hose on my filler tank. My filler tube goes into the side of the diesel tank. It can leak from a loose filler tube if the tank is 3/4 full or more. You can see my experience at this link:

With the vintage of your MH, there's a possibility that you might have nitrile gaskets/seals somewhere in the fuel system. If so, those seals can shrink when ULSD is used resulting in a leak. Cummins posted a bulletin on this as it affected some of their lift pumps - see HERE.

Leaking diesel from the coach is NOT normal. Get it checked out. Could be the generator or the fuel fill areas. You did not state where exactly you were seeing the 'yellow puddles'.

From the front of the coach it looks like 4'-5' back and about the middle. I hope to get a chance this weekend to take a better look.

That area you described is approx. where the genset fuel filter is. Look in the genset owners manual to see how to access and check it.
