Hi Guys:

When I was at The Rally in Kentucky I saw a vendor there selling LED Ceiling lights. They came in bright white dots or soft yellow dots. But the price was like $40.00 a bulb about 12 inches long.

I really like the way the led dot lights look in the ceiling and would like to replace my three main light bulbs in the coach. That's a total of six bulbs, two each.

Is there a more reasonable price some where? I did a few Google Searches but didn't come up what I am looking for.

Regards... Jim P.

I bought 3 for the reading lights above my couch. They were expensive. I was really disapointed. The light is not good for reading-------not bright enough. I wouldn't purchase them again. The 3 are in a box in my storage compartment and that's where they will stay

They are not cheap on 2nd link maybe Lowe's or HD may have something more reasonable.

Hi 007:

Thanks for the links... I checked out both sites. They don't have the 12 in. LED bulbs? Maybe that's why that dude at The rally was charging so much.

I will keep on looking I guess.

Regards.. Jim P.

Jim,

At the Fleetwood MHA rally in IL we replaced bulbs (just the bulbs, not the whole fixtures) in several, most used, light fixtures in our coach. The bulbs weren't cheap either, $22.50 each, from Sandy Kinzer of Kinzer Enterprises 602-738-6231. They were at the KY rally, too. The trick is to get bright white LED bulbs. There seems to be 3 different types of "white" led bulbs. Cool white that gives off a blue-ish tint, warm white that looks more like incandescent bulbs (yellow-ish) & bright white (more like sunlight). We tried several different bulbs before we found ones we liked.

A bulb that looks like this:

Gave off a light that looks like this - notice the "spot" look:

But a bulb that looks like these (already in fixture):

Gave off a much more spread out light pattern we liked better:

I haven't been able to find these bulbs online - no recognizeable number on the package to Google. They are a 36-bulb bright white LED bayonette base bulb (replaces 1156). Sandy told me they were a new supplier for her. We really like them, but, due to expense, chose to replace bulbs in fixtures we use nearly all the time. We'll wait until the price comes down before outfitting the rest of the fixtures. We're still hunting for bulbs to replace the sconce fixture bulbs (wedge base 912). Right now, the LED's available are either too big around or too tall to fit in the sconces we have.

The strip bulbs, like the ones you're looking for, are very expensive, even more so than the single bulb ones I bought. We thought about replacing the fluorescent bulbs w/LED, but with prices of $50 & up, we decided the fluorescents weren't that bad.

here is a n online source for the LED bulbs. Another feature is that they rotate for best position in the fixture

Star Lights Inc.

The rotating Star Lights are the ones we didn't like due to the "spot" effect. Others might like that, though. If anyone finds a source for the 36-light ones (cheaper than $22.50/ea), let me know.

We bought led replacements online for a few 1383 reading lamps and returned them ...though sold as a flood, they were too narrow a beam for reading use.

Hi Lori:

Yep the strip bulb is what I was looking for. Kinzer did have them at the show. But if I remember correctly they were $40.00 a bulb, $80 for two bulbs in one light... $240.00 for all three light fixtures...NOT...

He was going to give us a 10% discount, but that was still to much to pay.

The price has to come down some time.

Regards Jim P.

Command Electronics

I have them in my coach, and love them.

Somebody's got 'em, because Kinzer was selling them. I just have to find their distributor.

OOPS, my error! They look like the Command Electronics lights, but CE doesn't have a 36 LED version, or one in bright white.

30 LEDs or 21 LEDs and warm white only...

Just checked out this last site, Super Bright LED's.... no gots...looked under Rv Lights, Misc, Hosehold and all the rest.

If they have the 13 in. dot LED's that just snap in the current fixtures I can't find them. So far Kinzer is the only place that I seen that has them.

They will be at the Harrisburg Show.... hmmmm

Keep searching boys and girls.

Regards Jim P..
