LED tube light installation

I changed out my 18 inch fluorescent tube with the LED tube and the ballast overheated. I see I need to bypass the ballast. Is this just a matter of wiring the leads together? I thought it was a plug and play but I scorch the ballast. Thanks I need the help.

The Ballast needs to be removed or bypassed, since you have already done the smoke test, remove it.

it does'nt make a difference with better quality led lights. otherwise, the light will not work if the + and - leads are hooked up wrong.
where did you purchase the led tube light? what was the price?

jwd53, send the ebay link to the bulbs. I would remove the light fixture and see which wires are connected to the coach yellow (+12VDC) and white (-12VDC) wires. Then you will have to rewire the fixture to match the connection on the bulbs. Not plug and play.
