Does anyone know how to tone down the obnoxiously loud buzzer that comes on when the jacks are down and motor is running? You can hear the buzzer on our new 2011 Journey 2 campsite down. Its driving the doggies crazy.......

Don't run the motor when the jacks are down?

Seriously, some buzzer models have a rotating "door" on them that can be turned to tone down the sound. Find you buzzer and see if it has a plastic cover about the size of a nickel on it which can be rotated to block the sound to your taste.

Someone may know exactly what buzzer type you have in your unit.

Pull the fuse that operates the buzzer.

Not sure if this will help you - raising or lowering the jacks I turn the key to the accessory position and the "alert" is off. No ding or bongs to irritate me.

I agree, the jacks alarm sounder is a bit obnoxious. HWH used to provide Winnebago an alarm that "dinged", but Winnebago doesn't order them anymore. They're still available for about $ 30. What I did was add a latching relay circuit with a push button on the dash. When the alarm turns on, I push the button and it disables the alarm. When the ignition switch is turned off, the relay resets allowing the alarm to operate again. The operation of the dash light is unchanged. If you are handy, I can send you a schematic and parts list. A simpler solution would be to place tape over the front of the sounder to mute it some or add a switch in series with the sounder , but then you'd have to remember to turn it back on. You may need to dig to find the sounder, but it should be mounted to the firewall. It will have a Red and Black wire going to it. the Red is switched +12VDC and the Black is the control from the HWH jacks panel.
