Leveling jacks keeps working after system turned off
This is crazy. I bought my Winnebago Journey 34y new in 2009 from La Mesa RV in San Diego. Shortly after while rv'ing. I used the Power Gear PowerLevel automatic leveling system to, of course, level the coach. It did great. But about 10 minutes later, the right rear jack started extending farther on its own, raising the tire off the ground and seriously unleveling the rig. I restarted the rig, retract the jacks and releveled. It held that time. Still under warranty, I took it back to La Mesa RV who tested the system and said they could not duplicate.
Since then, 9 years later, the system has been malfunctioning at an increased rate. I have put up with it, just resetting it and releveling. Now it's become unbearable.
As I am writing this, we are RV'ing at Pala Casino and RV Resort. Yesterday, I leveled the rig, was enjoying a beverage inside and two hours later, the right rear jack started extending on its own again. No power to the system to cause it. Of course, I retracted and releveled. 2 a.m., I get up and once again the leveling system has malfunctioned, right side way up.
I can't find anything in the threads reference this problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds very logical and will do. Any idea how much one costs? I'm pretty handy so is this something I could do, or better let a professional figure it out?

Does it only act up when you auto level, or does it also do it if you level manually?

Several places have them for $250-$270. And it seems easy enough to replace; undo the four screws pop out the old control pad and plug in the new one. Just want to make sure there isn't another controller somewhere in the rig. I'm assuming the control pad is the same as the controller?

Here's a picture of the control pad. Control pad and controller the same thing?

If you have, or can download, specifics for your coach, I would expect there to be a separate unit, somewhere down low/underneath and towards the center, that has the 'level' that controls the automatic leveling.
Since the problem also occurs when you level manually I wouldn't expect that device to be the problem, but it's at least worth finding out where it is.

on power gear, the touch-control pad and controller are built together.

On our Power Gear leveler, there are 2 separate components, the touch pad on the dash and another unit in one of the storage bays that actually connects to the pump unit. I had to replace the unit in the storage bay due to a retract problem.
