So we ordered our 2011 View, due in late April or early May, and I'm now wondering whether we can add leveling jacks to the chassis. Has anybody done this? We were told Mercedes is very picky about not allowing modifications to the chassis.

Has anybody done this or found out it cannot be done? Thanks for your thoughts.

There is a pretty active View Navion owners group on the Yahoo site. Easy to join, search existing discussion threads and ask questions.

View-Navion : Winnebago's Skinnie-Winnies

I am considering the downsize to one of them and have joined to read up on the products.

Thanks, Jack. That's a good site, but not one I can access at the moment (it's blocked by the system) but I will look when I'm home this evening.

Many of the View/Navion owners have added leveling jacks to their MH's. From what I have read you are better off going to the manufacturers location to have the install completed. HWH in Moscow, Iowa.
HWH Standard Leveling Systems & Links
You will lose about 200 lbs of your CCC with these jacks...

There has been a fair amount of discussion on this subject. One poster (can't remember which forum) posted an excerpt from the Mercedes chassis manual that said "the addition of levelers would void the chassis warranty".

Before investing I would contact both Winnebago Industries and Mercedes to be sure. I'ts hard to believe Winnebago would offer an option that would viod the chassis warranty, but stranger things have happened.

Excellent suggestion. Thank you. I'll see if I can get a response from Winnebago first.

This poster over on rv.net claims to have a definitive answer from Mercedes: Levelers void MB Sprinter Chassis Warranty

Thank you! That was just posted yesterday. Very interesting. My salesman was telling me he thought that installing levelers might void the chassis warranty, but I'll take the post over on rv.net as definitive. Now to find good leveling blocks!

Winnebago has never had an option for levelers on the Sprinter chassis...

That would settle the matter for me. There's no way I would void the warranty by adding something like a leveling system. Beyond that I'm surprised anyone (especially a Winnebago dealer) would offer an option that would viod a manufacturers warranty.
