Has anyone change the light bulb in a G.E.Profile "Advantium" oven? Do I need to pull it out or can it be reached from the front ? Too cold to run to the rig and read the book..Happy New Year and good traveling.

The only reference I find to "changing light bulbs" is on page 41, and it is the work light. You can go to GE Advantium Manual on line and check it out. I think we have an interior light (not cooking lamp) out, haven't figured out where it is yet. Good luck.

Here's a link to a posting on the the Yahoo Advantium group which
describes how to replace that light: Interior Light Replacement....How
To (You may need to join the group to read the message.)
On edit: I got a couple replacement bulbs from RepairClinic.com: PartNo 1163212

Here's whAT the Yahoo Advantium site says:
IF YOU ARE BRAVE/HANDY?FOOLISH... call and get them to send you
bulbs, go for two, for FREE. And follow these directions.
1. Unplug unit
2. Remove two screws on top front of unit that hold grill in.
3. Lift out grill
4. one screw in front left corner of exposed flat area, remove.
5. small metal box under plate, to the right side, remove it by
slightly squeezing it to disengage tabs. Lift out remove bulb.
6. Install new bulb, hold with a clean cloth, fingerprint oil will
shorten life of halogen bulb.
7. Reverse procedure.
Most people will need step stool or short ladder to look down into
the hole where the bulb is.

So I guess that the 2 guys and a ladder trick won't work in this case!

Nope 2 guys and a ladder won't work! In fact, dental tools, specifically a mirror will help to find the little box that the bulb is in.
Seriously, it's not an easy job, but with a little patience, you can get it changed. It took about 30-45 minutes to get it apart and then back together. Probably on a scale of, 1 being the easiest, I give it a 2 1/2. Those with smaller more dextrious fingers might give it a 2. Good Luck

Thanks guys for the info, looks like a flashlight might do just as well. These old hands would probably bleed all over the oven, but will give it ashot.
