Livingroom Slideout Noise

There is a clicking noise that starts when the livingroom is retracted. The slide operates fine but when its 2/3's in it starts to click similar to teeth on a wheel and sounds like its coming fron the floor area in the center of the slide. Its a steady even click not a sporatic or scraping noise. Its the passengers side slide. The coach is at the dealer now getting checked out I was wondering if anyone had the same noise occur.

We have Lippert slide mechanisms. Our living room slide mechanism began making that same sound, and got worse through the years. Last year we took it to the Dutchmen factory service center for other repairs. While there I requested they inspect the living room slide mechanism. They found a bent tube was the source of the trouble. By this time the damage from the bent tube had ruined the gearbox , and the rack on the bent tube. They replaced the bent tube, welded a new rack to the tube, replaced the gearbox, re-aligned and readjusted the entire mechanism. They said the original cause was mis-adjustment when the RV was new.

well Ray, that certainly doesn't sound cheap.i have my first slide now and the noises it makes are scarey. lots of different movements as it goes thru its cycle, it also has the clicking or ratcheting noise , but only at the ends of travel. dealer said this was clutch slip at end of travel.
