Looking at a 2009 Itasca Latitude 39W...any design issues

found a 2009 Latitude 39W with 19,000 miles. Any major problems with this RV? I did read about the "Swintek" slide system issue, does this unit use Swintek slides? any feedback would be good. Thanks

Is the coach on a Freightliner or Workhorse chassis?

I have a 09 Journey. It's a good coach but I did have significant problems as there were very few coaches manufactured in 2008 - 09 due to the RV recession . Most issues were just poor workmanship and were resolved during the first two years. The slides in mine are Power Gear and are outstanding. Around 2014, Power Gear was purchased and the quality was well below the slides on my 09 - in my opinion.
The worst issue I had was with the sidewalls. There were many defective sidewalls provided to Winnebago - and other RV manufacturers around that time - that had defects in the manufacturing process. It impacted all coach lines and if the coach you are looking at it had the issue, it was likely corrected by now. The problem manifested itself with hairline cracking in the corners of the Windows. They are not noticeable unless you look closely.
Winn replaced both sidewalls on my coach - purchased in 2010 - in 2011. Needless to say, that was a highly invasive process that took over a month and resulted in us earning "frequent flyer" status subsequently at the service centre in Forest City for 2 years. Virtually everything in the coach goes thru the sidewalls such as wiring and plumbing or is attached to the sidewalls and there were lots of opportunities for errors. Other than that, mine is a great coach. The 09 interiors were upgraded significantly over the 08 coaches. Download and compare the pix in the brochures.

Winnie View suggested you get the SN but that will not tell you anything as I don't believe Winnebago disclose service records and there is no information on an Winn sites on problems. Winn only disclose recalls to owner. Your best bet is to search IRV2 for posts on the Winnebago Destination / Itasca Latitude for owner issues - note these were the same coaches under both brands til about 2015 when the Itasca brand was dropped Good luck!

If this coach still has the original Samsung 'boat anchor' (107 lb) front TV, make sure the shelf it sits one is fastened to the outside wall. Mine was missing all of the fasteners and soon sagged on the outboard side. My TV actually fell out of the position while we were travelling. Luckily, the slide was in so it only fell forward against the slide wall.
I helped a Latitude owner repair his after I did mine so I can only imagine there are more out there with the fasteners missing.
Funny how I never got anything from Winnebago when I brought this defect to their attention.
