Looking for parts for a Dometic Oasis Elite door awning

We just picked up a new-to-us 2003 Itasca Horizon with a missing door awning. The seller removed it claiming it was broken and I applied 12v to test and it's in perfect working condition and the awning's in good shape. The problem is it's missing the front half of the motor housing cover and fashioning one really isn't possible from an ascetic standpoint. I would rather not replace the entire awning if I don't need to. It's a pricey item.

I know those awnings were problematic for a lot of folks so I'm hoping someone's removed one and it's sitting on the shelf somewhere. Dometic no longer stocks parts for these and it seems the actual manufacturer has gone out of business. The model number of mine is 972CQ56.000B. Mine's Polar White, but I don't care about the color of the motor cover. If anyone has one they would like to part with please PM me. Thanks!

Have you tried any of the RV salvage businesses ...

Several came up when I entered it into Google

Hadn't thought of it, but it's a great idea. I'm also thinking since I have the back half of the cover I may be able to mold the front half using fiberglass or a bendable plastic material I came across.

Fiama company

Bruce,

I had a motor go bad, actually the gear in the motor assembly and called all over to RV salvage and Dometic looking for a replacement. Dometic wanted lots of $$ so I just took it off. Later I was given information by Member here. Dometic bought or buys the Oasis models from Fiama and then rebadges them. Fiama can be reached at: (407) 672-0091.

They are half the cost of what Dometic wanted.

Hey Dave, thanks for the great tip. Fiamma did indeed manufacturer my Oasis Elite and they can supply the cover. Wish Dometic would have provided the right manufacturer name as it would of saved me some time and trouble, but thank goodness for the forums.

Their website by the way is Fiamma Inc. - Home.
