Seriously considering trading in my 2011coachmen mirada for a vista 36d. They are hard to find but the one that is fairly close to purchase has the 30 amp service not 50. With 2 airs and other things does anyone see this to be a problem? Also there is no black tank flush , there is a black tank pump seems to be like a macerator and Also no drain lines for the water,,never had anything without them. The service center for the coachmen has been a nightmare, will take a very substantial lose on trade, want to know if I'm making a wise decision. My mirada has a bath and half and corona counters and full paint, this unit will not have any of that.really would appreciate owner inputs, good and/or bad. Thanks

imho 30 amp power is marginal at best, especially with 2 air conditioners. i use my black tank flush hose every time i dump. never had a macerator. there must be a fresh water tank drain somewhere.
the 2011 vista brochure shows 50 amp power is optional. it is a nice rig.

shpstw,

We have 30a. in our '08 Sightseer 35-J. I can't say we've missed that stiff 50a. cord. The 2 a/c's are ok and we've been out several times in temps over 100 degrees. I use a Flush King and it works very well but takes a little longer than a built in type. The 36-D looks good- is it the one with a bath in back? -I like that.

I don't see 30-amp as a problem. It's only dodgy when both airs are going full blast and we want to use the microwave at the same time. The energy management system does a decent job, but I still pop a breaker now and then. Overall, I'm satisfied with it.

It looks like the Vista line has been upgraded a bit. When I was looking for our '09 35J, the Vista looked very entry-level. I'm not as familiar with the Coachman line, but what you describe sounds like it's a little higher trim line than the Vista, so that might be a factor for you, but if the service center and the floorplan are your pain/pleasure points, you may be a lot happier with the Vista.

I think you're talking about low-point drains in the freshwater system? I think all of the Winnies have a tank drain valve, but you're right, mine doesn't have drains anywhere else in the lines. I haven't needed them. Mine has a suction hose at the pump to pull antifreeze right out of the jug. The only gotcha I've run into was with the hot water bypass. If you follow the owners manual directions, you'll end up with no protection between the bypass valve and the tank. Ask me how I know.
