Has anyone ever had the rear hubcap come loose on the Freightliner chassis on its own? Its the center piece that is black that says Freightliner it holds the center cover on. Mine is loose and I am trying to determine if someone may have been tampering with it

GG1,
I think we're talking about the same wheel covers, (see Sig.). I just had one of my front wheelcovers sound like it was loose and had to take a turn or two on the nuts. The covers can loosen on their own and they can make you think something's wrong with the brakes. If we're lucky enough to get another coach down down the road, I'll make darn sure it has aluminum wheels!
Hope this helps,
Tagalong

GG1, On my 02 Journey I had that part come completely off on one of my trips and I lost the center cover. It took a couple months to get the parts replaced thru Winnebago although at that time they were under warranty.

GG1, lost my left rear last year. I always check tire temperature, lug nut covers and rear top hats but when I stop for fuel it was raining and did not check very close. Cost me $125 plus several trips to Freightliner because someone had miss marked the left and right hand center bolts. I think the left rear got loose because it takes the worst beating from the right side of the road. I made myself a tool keep them good and tight.
