Low profile radio antenna

The roof AM/FM radio antenna is broken and needs to be replaced. I was wondering if anyone was aware of a low profile replacement that will screw into the existing base. I prefer that over the longer one that gets flexed when I cover it in the off season.

I'm also curious! The antennas supplied by WGO dry, crack and then break off (I lost one). Need to replace that and the two others that are ready to fail, and would like something better<

A lower profile antenna can be made with a brass rod. Measure your old antenna, take a brass rod that same length, coil the bottom around a 1/2" wood dowel several turns. The extended part needs to be 2/3 the amount used for the coil part. Dip the whole assembly into a rubberizing goo for several coats, allowing it to dry between coats.

Or, go to a CB shop and check out their make your own antenna kits.

Well. up to a point (0.75 Meters) the longer the antenna the better the antenna the antennas on most RV's are a hunk of junk.

Of course you could take a proper 0.75 Meter antenna and lay it flat, but then it becomes directional.. So there is no "Short" antenna that I woudl recommend.
