I am unable to power my radio on house power due to a voltage drop at the dash. The radio and sound speakers work fine on the key in the accessory position. The cigar lighter reads 12.6 volts. When I switch to house power the voltage drops to 9.6 volts and the radio will not come on. I can not figure what is causing the voltage drain. The actual battery voltage at the battery is 13.2. I have tried to find devices in the dash that might be at fault, but so far no luck. I have a 2004 Suncruiser 35U on a workhorse chassis. HELP

Your comments don't make sense (to me). How do you 'switch' to house power and what are you switching from?

Hi hamguy. Thanks for the reply. The dash switch for the radio power switches between engine and house(aux). I have asked Winnebago and they said that it will be a matter of tracing down the wiring to find what is drawing the voltage down. I have the wiring diagram download and have started to trace the wires. It will take some time.
PS. My late father was a "ham guy" also. (W0EPV)
Thanks again,
Tom

If possible check the house voltage in a few other places. House batt terminals could be corroded. Also, normally the dash switch to go between house and engine usually just goes open on one side when it fails but it might have a short of some sort.
