Need Advice I have a 2003 Suncrusier 35U with a lp detector Pretel-21 Model 7770.2 I went to move motorhome and found the detector going off. I checked around and could not see any leaks. I used the soapy water trick on the fittings that I could see and found no leaks.
Then detector stoped beeping . I then checked today to find it beeping again. I am leaving for a 2 week vacation Wednesday, June 29th. I did top the batteries off. I wonder if this could have any thing to do with LP Detector ????

Can you smell propane in the vicinity of the detector? Could there be any other chemical setting it off? What happens if you fan the air near the detector? Does it stop beeping? If you don't smell propane, and circulating the air does not stop the alarm, may be time for a new detector.

Minisprint,
I had my LP alarm go off on us. We smelled LP. We also heard the charger running on and off all night. We brought it in to the dealer. It turns out that the batteries were so low that the furnace was not lighting off. The dealer checked for leaks but couldn't find any. Also the LP detector gets pretty fluky when the batteries get too low. The dealer replaced all of our batteries and everything is fine now. This happened on our very first night in it at home. I'm glad we didn't go anywhere.
Apparently the dealer hadn't charged up the batteries, or at least checked them before selling it to us. It all turned out OK though. I'm pretty sure the detector was working correctly because we deffinately smelled LP. It was a good test I guess.
