Has anyone had a main AC breaker go out in there RV? Unfortunately I'm not with the RV right now but my wife called and said that there wasn't AC power in the RV (sitting in driveway). The RV is using 30A shore power from the house. She reset the main AC breaker and it immediately tripped. She says it's been raining a lot lately and although there's a possibility that water got in one of the plugs to the RV, this should have thrown the house (shore) breaker. But I've seen some electrical mysteries before! The only thing that is logical is that the main AC breaker in the RV went bad (shorted). None of the other breakers has thrown in the RV.

Opinions?

With the supply (house) breaker turned off turn off all breakers in the coach AC panel. Then turn the house breaker back on.........if the house breaker stays on then have your wife turn the main AC breaker in the coach AC panel back on.......then turn each breaker in the coach panel back on ......slowly.......one at a time.
If the house breaker trips when she resets it then your problem is likely in the cable between house and coach. turning the coach breakers back on one at a time will identify which coach circuit has a problem. Then report back here and lets see what's been discovered.

Funny you suggested that sequence because I had already called her and we had done almost exactly the same thing. Turns out that all the breakers stayed and nothing tripped. Actually, she went back and did it again and all is good. Personally I think some water got in one of the plugs on the 30A shore power cord. We're going back when it stops raining and blow out the plugs with air and then cover them with plastic (do it in the winter always).

Yep, I love a problem that fixes itself but it'll drive me nuts not knowing exactly what caused the tripping. We'll see how covering the shore power cable connects does. Glad I don't have the tripping - just wish I knew why I had it to start with.
