Manual slide retract failure?

Has anyone out there had a failure of their manual slide retraction mechanism? I had a hydraulic problem with my jacks/slides some time ago and was able to manually retract one side but not the other. I’m assuming a joint user stripped the threads or broke the bolts for the mechanisms overriding it with hydraulic power. I would like to fix it but am finding access to the aft threaded rod difficult to visualize because of the way it enters the body of the bottom of coach.
If any of you have dealt with a problem such as this I would appreciate any hints you may have.
