My 2008 Tour has 3 front windshield power sun visor shades all of a sudden the passenger side stopped working correctly it will go down or up a 1/2 inch each time I push the power switch the Winnebago dealer in Ocala FL. quoted
me $300.00 for a replacement, I have checked the linkage for binding and everything seems to be free, to me $300 for a replacement seems a bit high when it appears that the resistor in the motor is what keeps cutting out and then will operate as soon as you push the switch again. Anybody else had a similar problem? or know a cheaper source for a replacement shade (36 in.wide)

We had a similar problem. Have someone pull down on the shade as you hit the switch to lower the shade. Then when it is fully extended, retract it with person holding lightly to botton of shade. it cured our problem. we were quoted 300 bucks to fix, of course that meant New Replacement. Appears the shade just was binding and couldn't retract or extend on its own. Hope this fixes your problem. ed

Sounds like it is adjustment mode. When in adjustment mode they will only move slightly allowing you to fine tun the stopping points. You should have a MCD owners manual in your coach that will walk you through the process for resetting the stops. If you can't find the manual, call MCD at 800-804-1757 and they can walk you through it over the phone.

I'm guessing the person you talked to at your dealer must be unfamiliar with MCD or he would know not to start by trying you to replace it.

Be very careful pulling on the shades while trying to force them to work. This can damage the shade. Before you try that, call MCD. They are very helpful at helping you find the issue. If the shade is binding it is normally due to not rolling up on the roller perfectly straight and there are ways to fix that as well.

I agree that it acts like it's in setup mode, but 1/2 inch is 3 to 4 times the distance that mine move in that mode.

It does sound like you need to reprogram the limits. You can find the manual online. It isn't difficult to do, but if yours is like ours, you'll need two people. One person runs the switches while the other holds the programming button. On ours, the button is at the end of a couple of wires on the passenger side.
