We are going to have our shades replaced in our 08 Vectra with the MCD shades. The cockpit area will be motorized and duo. However, I am trying to decide if we need to pay the extra for duo shades in the rest of the coach when we do have the tinted windows. I have been reading others posts and they all seem to lean toward the duo since it offers extra heat and cold insulation for the coach. We are planning on having this done at GNR this year. My DH said it's cheaper than buying me a new coach! Any input out there is appreciated.

Make sure the single shades are light blocking if you only use the single shade. The 'day' shades many times block light during the day, but you can see inside the coach with them during nighttime hours.
I have solar screens for the front windshield, and love them. During the day, you can't see in. During the night hours, with lights on in the coach, you can see in.

We replaced all our OEM pleated shades with the MCD solo shades. With the heavily tinted windows and the window awnings, we never found a need to use the 'day shade' feature on the OEM day/night shades. The MCD solo shades block all light and give you complete privacy when they are closed.
IMO, save the $$ and go with the solo shades for your windows (assuming you have tinted double pane glass and window awnings, which I sure you do on that Vectra).

We replaced both cockpit shades and all window day/night shades with MCD duo shades. We like the duo's very, very much. Even though our side windows are heavily tinted to the point that no one can see inside during the daytime, we do use only the day portion fairly often to block out heat/direct sunlight.

We went with the duos. Like Paul, even with dual-paned, tinted windows, there's still heat transfer because we have no awnings, so having the 2nd day shade was worth the extra money for us. Only our windshield ones are motorized though, the rest are manual (didn't want to spend the extra money to have all motorized).

Hi Glenda!
We put in the Duos for the large windows by the couch and dinette. Having the darkly tinted windows, we both think just the night shades would have been enough. When we bought them at the 2008 GNR, I honestly didn't know singles were available.

We went with singles because we have tinted windows and awnings.
No regrets.

Thanks for all the input. I can see a valid reason to just have the solo shade since we do have tinted glass and awnings. It is half the cost also! Waiting to receive the swatches from MCD and then we will decide what to do. I may just do select windows with the duo shade. Thanks again.

we have the duo shades throughout, with dark windows and awnings. we love them! one thing i would suggest is motorizing the drivers window sunshade. its great when you have the switch handy at your left hand. you won't regret the extra money spent on that one jim
