Overall, I've been pleased with the ISB in my Meridian. I do notice a difference in acceleration and on hiills since I started pulling a toad, but I'm still happy with the performance.

A friend recently bought a Journey(?) with the ISB. His travels are going to be East of the Mississippi River (no big mountains) and he does not tow. He claims to be very pleased with the performance and I'm envious of his 9.5 mpg.
Another friend with basically the same coach lives in CO and tows a Jeep. He is quite unimpressed with the performance.
So.........if these two evaluations have any meaning it's that it depends on your expectations and where you plan on using the coach.

Jack, What year model does your question apply to? I was leary when we bought ours with the 300 hp/600 lb torque ISB02. We have towed our 4,000# toad all over the US with no problems, over 20,000 miles towing. No, it does not have the power to move mountains or go up the steepest grade at 70 mph but it does do the job. 45 to 50 mph up Cabbage Hill by Pendleton and similar performance eastbound out of Laramie, WY satisfied me that I could live with it and just smile as the power houses fly by me at 60+. Fuel economy is more dependent on wind, weather and terrain than anything else unless you have a real lead foot.

Am looking at 10 or 11 models ..

I realize there is a weight and weight rating difference between the V Class Meridian , and the Meridian , as well as the Ellipse ..

Always a fan of displacement , and am curious as to how the B performs being the smallest of the three diesels
