I am pulling the dinette and installing a fold down table in its place in my 2007, 29R, Sightseer. I emailed Winnebago for framing info and have not heard from them yet and would like to work on the project this weekend. I used a magnet to try to find the framing members in the wall under the window at the dinette area. It appeared that there is a large mounting plate located about 1 1/2 - 2 inches under the window and running down the wall about 10 inches. This covers the entire area that the original table mounting plates were located on the surface of the wall. Has anyone ever had this verified by Winnebago or visual inspection when repairing this section of wall?

If you live somewhere where there is heavy dew or frost, you can see where the framing is on the outside, in the early morning out of direct sunlight. Wherever there is framing behind the outside wall, it will not have any dew (sweat) or frost.

The MH needs to be heated on the inside to make it work and the outside temperature colder than the inside by about 20 degrees.

I got the wall prints from Winnebago for my motorhome. What you're finding looks very similar to what I see in my print. I bet your 29R has the same stuff in it's wall.

The bottom of my window cutout is at 882mm above their datum line (a certain part of the wall at the floor). There are three metal strips about 525 mm long and 80mm wide with the top of the top one at 737 mm and the bottom of the bottom on at 477mm. Knowing that they are simplt laid in place during assembly, I'd trust you magnet investigation over the exact dimensions in the prints, I'm sure placement varies from the print by a little bit.

Thanks all,

Since there appears to be a steel panel (magnetic) right where I need to attach the shelf, I will map it carefully and attach it with sheet metal screws. I should get some idea of the thickness of the metal when I pre-drill the holes. I'll let you know how it goes and get some pictures posted when it's done.

Mike
