Michelin Stealth Wind Shield Wipers

Owners beware - the Michelin Stealth wind shield wipers will probably not fit your wiper arms. I was recently looking for better 28" wiper blades for my Suncruiser 32H when I saw the Stealth blades. They looked perfect. They have a continuous flex and a spoiler. Unfortunately when I went to mount them, I found that the wiper arm on my coach was too wide to accept the blades. A quick note to Michelin confirmed the fact.

I had a devil of a time trying to find a replacement. I ended up with a cheapo replacement insert until I was at the Winnebago factory. Now I have a spare set.

I have used Anco refills on my coach for several years. I had to spread the refill retainers slightly but they work great at about 1/4 the price.

Seems to be a common problem finding replacements. I've seen ANCO refile mentioned several times on this and other forums. I'll have to look into them. I really liked those Michelin blades Too bad.

I've been using the Michelin "beam" type wiper blades for a couple of years now. I like the nice clean look and less apparatus cluttering my view out the front.

Been working good for me but as I remember they just didn't bolt on. I may have had to drill out the hole size, or something like that.

If you want to use them, I think it's a matter of "where there's a will....there's a way".

I've got the will, but there's no way with the Stealth models. My wiper arms are the "J" hook type and are too wide to fit into the blades. Your arms appear to be the post type and gave you more latitude in adapting the blades to your arms. Guess I could try to change out my arms, but that seems a little radical.

Why don't you grind a little off the arm?

I put tennis balls under the arms when parked for more than a couple of days. It lifts the blades slightly off the glass, not over stretching the spring tension of the arm, and keeps my rubber from setting to one side.

Also, when not out on the road, the home sits facing north, thus out of the sun.

Thought of that Campingman. Just a little risk adverse. Hate to have to buy a new arm if that didn't work either. Think that I'll exhaust other options first.

When I'm home, I don't have the option of pointing the front of my coach north to avoid the sun, so I cover the blades with small pipe insulation. Doesn't so much take the pressure off of the blades, but it does protect them from the suns rays. I've heard of others doing the tennis ball trick and suppose I should do it as well after I find new blades.
