My Sirius radio looses its antenna signal when I run the microwave. Generator, shore or inverter power. This is the factory installed system, magnadyne radio. Any thoughts?

Jim

I would be very careful about your oven leaking RF (and into your eyeballs) as you stare at the food inside.

Microwave ovens operate in the S-Band around 2.45GHz, give or take. The Sirius band occupies 2.32-2.332.5GHz. It is entirely possible that your oven is leaking to the point of swamping the Sirius pre-amp and shutting it down. The big question is why?

Radio Shack used to sell a microwave oven leak detector that you might want to see if you can locate just to make sure.

I have had a funny twitch lately and while the microwave is on water will boil on the stove with out the stove on I will look for a leak detector. What about a bad ground or a cut in the antenna wire shielding?

Thanks
Jim

I doubt it, but even if it were an open ground it's still possibly catching stray radiation that shouldn't be there in the 1st place.

What's the AM radio sound like when you run the MW?, or for that matter, Ch.2 off the antenna?
