Mid 1990's 23 ft Brave

What is your opinion of the mid 90's Braves at 23 feet? In particular I'm most concerned about how they drive/handle. Lots of flat area there and I'd like to know how they react to winds, mountain roads, etc. A lot of our destinations involve mountain roads and gusty winds and I don't want to arrive tense from fighting the wheel.

Take it for a Demo ride to see how she feels.
With a vehicle 25 or so year old it is necessary to have the entire suspension inspected.
If shocks need replacing I suggest Koni. For coil springs Sumo. Did the prior owner add front and rear Anti-sway bars? That is a big plus. Did he add a steering stabilizer like Safe T Plus. That is a must. JMHO.

Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to MH's. I've owned travel trailers for 40 years and decided to make the transition to a MH. I find it hard to believe that MH manufactures don't upgrade the suspension when they design them. A chassis from Ford or Chevy when delivered from the factory I'm sure is generic. As a matter good engineering I would hope they would upgrade with sway bars, shocks, stabilizers as required to give the driver the best and safest driving experience. Please tell me they do, because I've read too many threads where owners do the upgrading. One of the reasons I've liked Lazy Daze is because of the lower CG and any 26.5 or longer gets Bilstein shocks.

We once had a '96 Brave on a Chevy chassis. The ride and drive was real good in my opinion. It had the airbags in the coil springs on the front and they made a big difference with ride. I know this as we had one go bad and had to drive quite a ways to get it replaced.
