Minnie 22R Rearview Camera is Useless
We have a new to us 2015 Minnie 22R with a factory built-in Pioneer radio/CD/monitor system with a wired camera on the rear.
The quality of the rearview image on the monitor in most all cases is useless. Once in-a-while I can get a usable image, but never in a manner reliable enough to count on it in traffic. It does not seem to be related to sun angles on the camera or the screen. So far I have not found any setting to improve intensity or contrast in the image.
Has anyone else had similar experiences or have ideas what's wrong or how to correct it. I already use a wireless system from Rear View Safety in our 5th that works quite well. I'm considering using a similar system in the Minnie, but would prefer to get this factory system working.

We have the same issue. The camera is poor quality, and totally useless.

I'm also in the Haloview MC7108 observation camera camp and very happy with the quality, image and price. I use a ram mount to attach to the center rearview mirror while towing and it's a single thumb screw to remove it when not towing.

Are you affiliated with haloview? Seems like a good portion of your posts are about it, complete with a link.

My 25B has a pretty crappy camera, but maybe not to the extreme that was described in the first post. I'm planning to put in a ccd camera to replace this cmos one. I did find the connector for the factory camera, and it's a standard 4 pin one. So it shouldn't be a complicated swap. I don't know whether the pioneer can handle 720p, though.

I'm the OP. This thread is about what Winnebago installed at the factory and not about Haloview or any other brand. I'm interested in what others have found with the factory option.

Have a 2017 version of this unit. I was unimpressed with the rearview camera to begin with. Decided to re-aim it a bit. Before I climbed down , cleaned the lens with a damp rag which improved it a lot-I won't be admitting here how long it was before I did this.
That said, don't really find it that useful. There are side view cameras in the side mirrors that gets much more helpful use for me.
