Yesterday while driving home after driving over a set of railroad tracks, the drivers side mirror dropped out. Because of the slow speed going over the tracks and the wires for the heated mirrors, it just slowly fell out and did not break. I picked it up and snapped it back in, and drove on home.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does the mirror just snap onto the round ring? Is there anything else that holds the mirror in?

Thanks,

Not to sure about a MH but my F-450 ford truck mirrows just snap into the plastic fittings inside the mirrow housing. Not power mirrows, so no wires.

Yes, they clip in. But they have to be perfect or they will work loose. Yours must have not been installed correctly.
I replaced one of my mirrors and it took me some time to get it just right.

Hi Folks:

YEP, it just clips in. I lost the right side mirror and ordered a replacement from La Mesa. The electrical connections attach first and the mirror clips onto the gimble ring. It is easier if you tilt the gimble ring all the way up first so you can see the entire gimble and clips on the back of the mirror. It's actually pretty easy. Good luck.
