The fuse for our motor aide heater is in the same location. However a blown fuse is usually a symptom of the problem not the cause. In our case (and many others I am aware of) the fan blade slips on the shaft until it binds against the housing. Then due to the high resistance the motor can't turn and the fuse blows.
We had our unit replaced several years ago. At the time they convinced us that the labor to take out the water heater, the motor aide unit, disassemble everything and reposition the fan would cost the same as a new unit.
In retrospect If I would have been a bit more energetic we could have saved several hundred dollars. I asked for the old unit back and disassembled it when we got home. When I repositioned the fan on the motor shaft everything worked like new. I've read where some people put a drop of epoxy at the junction of the fan blade assembly and the shaft to keep it from moving again.
I'm sure a professional repair facility would prefer not to take the chance trying to make such a repair. The failure rate even if relatively low would negate any profits.
