Hi. I'm new to rving and picked up a 1985 Elandan. Overall great shape with 41,000 miles. Got most things figured out. Took her on first trip last weekend. Plugged in a tv and a dvd player across from the couch, worked for awhile then quit. tried other outlets and none worked. later fired up the generator and ran front a/c and then the tv and dvd workded fine. an hour later a/c started smoking and quit. checked breakers and none tripped. hour later tried rear a/c and it worked. the only outlets that work are the two beside the breaker box.

next issue, slept with generator on to run rear a/c. notice alot of fumes. did buy a carbon monoxide detector and it went off in the middle of the night. thanks

Sounds like you have a bit of work to do in figuring out the wiring, plus exhaust leaks on the generator.

Be careful using this unit until you get things sorted out.

Welcome to the forum. I would have an RV electrician check the coach. Hopefully your smoking A/C didn't burn up. I wouldn't run anything until I had the coach checked out.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Take NO chances with the generator exhaust it will never be worth it. The electrical should not be to great a problem to trace. The Elandan was a fine and a good looking coach. Come back and let us know you have it fixed and usable again.
