We removed our couch to have it re-upholstered (lousy cloth on the original than did not wear well). This is the couch with the pull-out drawer underneath and drop-down arm rest/drink holder. This is DW’s roost, and the drawer is her bookshelf. After removal there is clearly visible on the right (rear) end, front side, of the couch a mystery bolt through the floor. There is no matching bolt at any other corner of the couch. The bolt has a nut on the floor side, and the nut is NOT tight on the bolt. I can pull the bolt upward maybe as much as in inch. I cannot see the bottom side as the top of the storage area underneath is covered …the nut is visible in the picture below. Can anyone tell me what the bolt is for? …perhaps a tie-down for a recliner or seatbelt for a chair, etc that I don’t have??

Paul, There are seat belts attached to the floor behind our couch. They look like the bolt in your picture.

True ...but this bolt is very close to the front side of the couch rather than behind ...makes me wonder if Winnie put seat belts on the optional chair/rockers/or whatever ??

Don't have a clue as to what the bolt is holding, but it is probably a good idea to tighten it.......
