We have a bought a 2001 Journey 36GD with 310 HWH leveling system. Not taken delivery yet.

The leveling instructions say to push the up arrow to raise [extend] the jacks in PAIRS where the yellow lite is lite.

OK, if the left front yellow light is lite and I press the lift side up arrow. What happens? If both left jacks go down [front and back] the rig is just tilted to the right, but still low in the front. Now what?

Seems to me I'll just chase my tail, until I run out of jack travel. I know the sytem must work. So where am I going wrong here?

I used to have a Meridian with the same system. This is from memory, but I'm pretty sure you level left and right first, then front to back.
To answer your question - after tilting to the right, with the front still low, you just raise the front and you're done.

Joe T has it. I have the 2002 version of the same rig with same leveling system. The yellow lights will identify the low side. As the jacks start to extend, a red light for each jack will come on.

Always level side-to-side first, then front to back. Raise the low side first, then lower the jacks on the opposing side only enough to make ground contact and 'tighten' the coach. When all the yellow lights are off, you are supposed to be level (although it is not perfect on mine....I always have to tweak it a bit using a small level placed on the galley counter). Try not to park in a situation where you are raising the rear higher than the front since you may end up with the rear wheels off the ground. While some folks say this is OK, I always prefer not to have the rear wheels in the air since that negates the parking brake.

Extend slides after you have leveled the coach. Also, since the HWH pump motor draws a lot of power, it is suggested that you do your leveling and slide movement with your engine running.

I always inspect the site and try to determine if/how many blocks I may need to place under a jack to get level without over-extending a jack.

I talked to an HWH rep in Quartzsite back in 2005 and he recommended chasing the yellow light (lowering the jacks associated with the lite until it is out), then tapping the side extend buttons to lower the remainng jack.

But I have been unseccessful in using this procedure.

I always try to park slightly nose down. I then level front, put down back, then level side to side.

Works for me.

Just to clarify. The yellow lights are associated with the sides, front and back, not with a corner.

i follow smlranger's procedure with good results.
the important thing is to not twist the chassis. if you twist the chassis, you can loosen the windshield and even crack it.
on my moho, there is a "yellow light" level adjustment in the basement bay aft of my entrance door.
i use a small bubble level in the doghouse cup holder that is the same as the freezer floor. the freezer floor is the most important thing in the moho to keep level.
so, level to the freezer floor and then find a convenient place to set the level so that you can see it while leveling.
