Has anyone seen the new 42' motor homes from Winnebago? Or better yet

has anyone bought one, or driven one. We are really anxious to see one, but

have to drive quite a ways, so wanted some feed back.

Thanks

John

Hi John,

Welcome to iRV2.

I've asked the moderators to move this post to the Winnebago Owners forum. There is a better chance you'll get results there.

To find the Winnebago owner's forum scroll down the main page until you get to the Owners Corner. There are several forums organized by manufacturer. Scroll down until you find the Winnebago owners forum.

Welcome to IRV2.
The Winnebago 42 has a write up in the Blog section by Driver, and also by robodoc. Check them out to get an idea of the coach.
I was inside a 42 in Florida and I really liked it, quite a bit of interior room.
Good luck in your search

John,
I drove one last summer at the Winnebago Grand National Rally in Forest City. It is extremely quiet, smooth, and awesome. I own a 2007 and would have purchased it on the spot if I could afford it. If you re thinking fulltiming; it is the only way to go. It has a carrying capapacity double of any other motor home that I have seen. Fully insulated ceiling with three air conditioners. The demo had just pulled a trailer with 14,500 lbs. If I remember correctly it has a carrying capacity of 9,500 lbs and a towing capacity of 15,000 lbs. I have heard of some gread updates for the 2011 model (like a bath in the rear). If I had the funds I would buy it tomorrow.

Wife and I went through one here in Forest City that was parked up on the hill at the WIT building. Very nice! Large bedroom and bath, two TVs in the front, one over the dash area and another, larger, in the entertainment lounge. The one thing that I did not observe/confirm was that Winnebago has gone with a straight front axle versus the independent front suspension.

John, we ordered ours in oct and took delivery in feb. the front axle is solid but it rides well. the tag helps a lot with the driving stability. Good power and quiet. High end features at a reasonable price.

No bother,
We do love the coach, The interior layout sold us. Our 1st roadtrip to Texas is scheduled for memorial day weekend. The lounge area sold us on the layout and we indeed love it. Things we've noted on the negative side of the ledger.
1. when the slides are in, it is narrow between the end of the sectional and the other couch. 2. the fridge is a little difficult to access with the slides in (the side by side upgade does better, but we really like the wood panels over stainless). 3. Although the couches sleep good, they are not a hide-a-way air matress, our preferred configuration.
I don't know about the bath and half next year. I as the "DH", hope DW would call me that, appriciate the tag. The unit is solid drives great and so far no real problems only cosmetics.

'robodoc'

You lost me on your last post 'DH' ? Then, I am a senior citizen and my brain cells are slowly going south on me? The Itasca we looked at was very impressive -- wonder if Winnebago will go to a 45' next year?
