Welcome aboard, KenneyFamily. My 2002 Horizon is pretty much the same as a Journey; electrical, mechanicals, plumbing, etc, are the same, as is the Cat330 engine. So if you have questions, ask away.

Tell us more about you RV'ing exerience, and previous rigs. New to the Winnebago brand? Also suggest you edit your profile in the control panel, and save a signature with your city and state, or at least your state. That could be helpful when another forum member is answering a question or offering a suggestion.

BTW, I've had my '02 when it was about a year old, and even now, after 12 years, we still really like it. Good luck and safe travels with yours.

We love our 2003 version of your coach! Wouldn't trade it for another. Drives great and plenty of good friendly support here on the forum if you need it. Its been fun upgrading the paint and stripes, the awnings and changing out the gold hardware on the inside to brushed nickle. Oh and getting rid of the TV tub and putting in a nice HDTV up front... oh and ... the list will go on and on but its how you make it your own.

Hi and welcome kinneyfamily! We've been glamping in our new to us 04 34H for the past 2 years and so far, It has been beyond our expectations.

We go to RV shows in our area pretty often just for fun and to get improvement ideas, we have yet to find a better floor plan and mechanicals in a coach of this size for us.

You'll find super nice folks here willing to help if needed too...

What model and length? In your profile it states 38ft, do you mean 39qd. Things are in different places and different floor plans based on the model and length. Also engine access is different.

To answer your question for feedback, don't overload the slides. Collecting major rocks is not a good idea. It would be good to get a TPMS. You don't want a tire to fail and not have some sort of warning. It happened to me and I had lots of damage. Watch the dates of your tires and filters. Filters don't want to go over 5 years in service and most Michelin's can go 10 years if inspected from the inside out after 5 years of service. When in doubt replace. Keep an eye on the water separator. Dump it every once in a while. One of the most overlooked components for service is the break air dehumidifier.

Others will give you more info, that I am certain of. Have fun. Travel with wisdom.

Happy trails,
Rick Y

Find a shop you trust. Check all the service records and service anything that has been neglected.
How old are the tires? Over 5 years, think of replacing.
Your Cat 3126 has a grease zerk on top of the fan pulley. Lots of them get overlooked. You have to raise the bed and remove the cover and lay on the engine to get to it. If it does not get greased it fails and costs a lot of money.
Get a TPMS. We use the one from TST and it has been reliable for many years.

Your Journey is a solid well built unit. Fix it up to suit your family and use it. Don't let it sit.

Join the Winnebago Itasca Travelers Club and come to Winnebago's Grand National Rally in Forest City, Ia. in July. You'll have a blast!!

Let me also add that since the cost of replacement for the engine or trans is so great, it would also be a good idea to purchase a warranty program. We have Good Sam's. There are a lot of plans out there.

We have an '01 Journey, 330 Cat, and it is our 3rd MH, second DP. We really like it and this forum is the BEST! Wife just retired and we're now looking forward to the future, mostly on the road. Enjoy your new rig.
