Hi,

I just placed a deposit on a 2002 Winnebago Adventurer 35U with Chevy/Workhorse chassis. It has 55k miles. My deal is dependent on a mechanical checkout. I want to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong before I lay down the cash. Is there anything specific about this model or year that I should look at or be concerned about? Thanks!

I purchased an '05 35A a couple of months ago. In my search for common complaints on the Adventurer, windshield leaks seemed to be the most common discussed. Do a search on here and you will find many threads dealing with the subject.

IF the unit is built on a W20 or W22 Workhorse chassis and not on a P-32 Workhorse chassis, then you will want to VERIFY that the Bosch Brake RECALL campaign has been completed. You can enter the vin # on the Workhorse website to learn if it was included in the recall.

We had an 01 35U for 8 yrs. Great coach, had the F-53 Chassis and no complaints. One thing we did was remove the sliding closet doors and install mirrored doors, hinged on both sides to gain full access to it. BIG improvement. Also did not like the constantly dark bedroom, so installed a 14x14 vent in the middle and used an insert at night to make it dark in morning. If you find that you need to run the a/c at night, it will be noisy as the rear side of the bed is the return vent and you get a lot of humming. I found that if you go to your circuit panel by the entry door, you can turn off compressor #2 and it quiets down considerably. At night, one compressor should be enough. You will like the coach, it is very liveable. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I have an '02 Suncruiser 35U and have put 85,000 happy miles on it. Sure I have had problems but never a "get out and walk to find help" situation. Make sure the brakes have been inspected for recall. You can find out with VIN # and internet. I don't know the URL but Google will help.
