First time Class A owner, 2005 Vectra. Where is the fuel filter on my 400HP 8.9 Cummings? I have searched every chassis book and no location given. Also, on two occasions, my rear camera went crazy for about 2 minutes and just showed lines. After shutting off and turning back on a few times, back to normal. Then worked fine the rest of the trip. Any ideas? Finally, is it normal to hear air discharging from the coach brakes every so often while driving? I think I have noticed this on 18 wheelers so is it normal? Thank you in advance for any help.

Don't know if your 400hp 8.9 is similar to my 350hp 8.3 Cummins, but you might check on the passenger side of the engine above the starter. It is difficult to see, and even more difficult to change! That's where my fuel filter was until I paid to have it moved to the rear when the service guys (and I!) can get to it.

Can't comment on the rear camera problem, but for your question on hearing a quick burst of air discharge, that is normal. It is designed to do that to automatically purge water from the air system.

It would be probably be easier for recognition purposes to refer to your engine in the future as the Cummins ISL.

The primary fuel filter is underneath the engine and is usually accessed by a guy on a creeper from the starboard (passenger) side. One of my projects is to get a Cummins dealer to order the relocation kit to move the filter to the rear (or front if you will) where it is easily accessable (that's the way the 2006 models come.)

The Psssst you hear every so often is informally called the "spitter" and it is just an indication that your ping (air accumulation) tanks are up to the 130 pounds (or whatever) of air pressure. Completely normal (and highly desirable!)

Sorry - don't have a clue about your camera

Thank you. Sounds like the filter relocation kit is well worth the money.
