Thumbs up Nice to know our 19 yr old Class A is quieter than new Class C

My Wife rode in my Sister's new 31ft Jayco Greyhawk about 50 miles to meet up with me recently. I've never ridden in one so naturally I had to pick her brains about how it rode etc. She said no comparison between our 35 ft Adventurer (2000) and theirs! She said the engine (V-10 Ford) was noisier than ours and did seem to ride rougher over the bumps etc. She did say it seemed pretty stable on the road though.

This of course pleased me as I've always been happy with the ride (as long as I keep 80psi in the tires & keep my tanks full). I think back in the day Winnebago went the extra mile to build a quality gas powered coach. I sure a DP coach with its multiple "hot air" bag suspension is noticeably better than ours of course, but I have never ridden in one of those either (I don't know any better, & prefer to keep it that way!)

This of course is just my Wife's opinion, however she usually is pretty spot on most things!

Happy wife, happy life.
I am happy with the noise level in our Adventurer also. I do think I will try to change the air intake somehow to quiet it down a bit. I never notice it when I'm driving, but when my wife drives, I can really notice it.
We have the full Banks intake and exhaust system, so that may be the reason.
Happy Glamping.

My motor coach rides quite to my standards also.
I have ridden in a DP although; it was a 98.
It was a little quieter because the rear engine but mine is not that noisy to begin with!

Hate to burst your bubble. The new Winnebago class a gassers are way quieter than the older versions. Loved our 99’ but 20 years later the cabin noise is much lower. More power and way better shifting too.

Not sure what Jayco is building on the F450 chassis, but Winnie has upped their game on class A‘s. If you go drive one, don’t be surprised if you drive it home.

Man thanks NickD! luckily for us out here there's no close Winnebago dealers or I'd be it debt. At least its nice to know the big "W's" quality is still there. I don't know how there interiors fare compared to our beautiful interiors that have held up very well over the years, (meaning furniture, valances etc)

I must say that I'm not overly fond of the "oak wrapped vinyl" in 2000, bot realized they had to cut corners somewhere to make them affordable at the time. I just don't think they cut corners where it mattered, even after 19+ yrs everything still works & is layed out very well.

I would almost be afraid to buy a new one, I probably would expect to much.
Thanks for letting me know though!
