No 110v power inside coach

I have a little problem...I have a 2006 Meridian 36G. We just got home from a weeklong trip and everything worked fine. I parked the rig, hooked it up to shore power and turned on an electric heater for the night. Next day, the electric heater was working fine and I went ahead and winterized the coach. I left the heater on low so that it would come on and just take the chill off when ever things got near freezing. Tonight, I went out to the coach and there is no 110v power. I checked both GFI's, the main circuit panel, the connection at the coach and found no problems. When I fired up the generator, everything worked as it was supposed to. I am thinking it might be my auto transfer switch, but why would that go bad when it hasn't been used? Anybody got any suggestions...?

How about the circuit breakers in the feed to the shore power from your house? I only have a 30amp from the house and run several fans, a 100 watt light bulb and two 1500 watt heaters. If everything is running at the same time that pretty much maxes out the circuit (3,600 watts). A 50 amp circuit would be better at 12,000 watts but it sure would get expensive to change.

Thanks MrD, but I checked the power at the extension cord where it connects to the coach. It has power. I wish I had a pedestal near where I park the coach but I don't. I have to park out in the horse pasture and run an extension cord to the coach. I never use more than one item at a time on the cord and NEVER use the Air Conditioner.

If all works OK with genset running, then I would suspect an ATS problem and begin checking there.

If you don't mind, let us know when you find/fix the problem...

Best of luck & Safe travels

Found the problem and fixed it! It appears that the Auto Transfer Switch was stuck. I just took my hand and pounded on the transfer switch box and suddenly I had power. Got the idea for this from a post on the RV Forum. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the heads up on the fix, you may want to consider replacing the ATS if it locks up again.

Good luck and travel safe..
