I waxed my roof yesterday and now my gps does not work. Did waxing the antennae cause the problem? I left the dome alone but didn't think the gps would be a problem. No gps today, comes on, changes source, etc. but the map is not there, just the blue screen on navi setting.
Blackbird igo gps that is in the 2009 Vectra is what we have. I am more lost than usual.

Ham operators regularly us "antenna wax" on their antennas to talk farther and receive weak signals. We also us "DX wax" for overseas chats.

All kidding aside, I doubt if you hurt the antenna with just the wax. Now if you got some water down inside it.....Can you pull the connection to it and make sure it is dry and clean.

If you shut the unit down at a location that is different from your current location, trying to start it,may take it longer to find itself again.

Worth a try. I'll have to go back up there and see if maybe I pulled a wire or something when I waxed around it. It will be in the teens tonight so might be frosty up there in the morning. No hurry.
