No Heat / No AC

04 Journey 39W

A bit chilly here in FL today.
Journey has been stored here since November. Turned on heat...fan comes on, but no heat. After a bit fan turns off [from lack of heat, I assume]. Same results with electric or LP. Tried a couple of times...Checked breakers.

So I tried the AC. Same results. Seems like it should be something straightforward, but I'm not finding it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Ron

Are you trying to use a heat pump? Does your furnace (12v/LP gas) work? The fact that a fan comes on indicates it's not a 120v problem if you're talking about a heat pump.

A rooftop A/C and heat pump both use the same compressor. That might not work if the starting capacitor is bad. You can find YouTube videos about checking and replacing them.

AC Heat

On further investigation, LP works fine...

I would suspect the thermostat since it is common to both heating and cooling and electric and propane. Clean the contacts and pull the connectors off an on a few times to clean the contacts.

If your furnace blower starts and the seconds later shutdown, that means the sail switch didn’t detect enough air flow. Low battery, bad or dirty sail switch, or restricted air flow is the possible problems.

The AC issue is another problem that may be 12vdc battery related. The thermostat and AC circuit board are 12vdc powered.
