No Signal At The Tow Receptacle

We have a 2005 Winnabago Vectra 40 AD and there is no power to the tow car receptipal for braking and turning. I have checked all fuses, the ones at the rear by the radiator as well as all fuses in the front. The wires from the receptical are nicely bundled and seem to run to the front of the coach inside the frame. There are numerous relays with the fuses but I have no idea which is which. Has any one possibly had this problem? I think it could be a relay or simply a connection coming disconnected somewhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a 2001 Journey 36LD and mine has a 3-wire to 2-wire converter box on the rear cross member by the tow hitch. It take the three wires consisting of the right and left turn signals plus the brake light and converts them into 2 wires connected to the tow electrical plug next to the tow hitch. The tail light wire is wired directly to the plug. The tow electrical connection on my Journey is a 4-wire one.

The converter functions so that each turn signal has its own seperate wire (yellow & green)and the brake light (red) is sent over the turn signal wires. There is a diode in the converter box to seperate the turn signals. I have had two converters fail in the last two years causing the motor home not to have turn signals or brake lights. Check to see if you have a converter close to the electrical plug.

Thanks, but there is nothing close to the receptical. The bundle of wires go from the receptical over to the frame then appear to the front of the coach.

mine had a bunch of differant fuses, I would get new fuses and just replace the one for all the trailer lights/tow lights.my left turn signal wouldnt work and it was on its own fuse, 2010 tour

Check for an inline fuse comming off the chassis batteries. Spartan adds it so turn and brake signals work with key off. Short in adapter from coach to toad blows it. Mine wasn't labeled. Yours might be different, but kit took me 6 hrs to trace it down.

Not a MH but my Ford F350 has to have the iginition turned on to activate relays going to the receptacle

How about the ground. Mine quit working and I found the ground wire had come off the back of the coach.

Thanks to all, I think the easiest thing to do is rewire the receptical from the tail lights. They are readialy avalible to get to.......JOR2

Have you checked the fuses for the tow package?this fuse box is located oan the drivers side rear of coach under the louvered door for the a/c condenser you remove screws and it lifts up like a compartment door

I have checked all the fuses, these are to the rear of the side mounted radiator on this coach.

there are two boxes in that area. i just solved the same problem on my 04 vectra 40ad. mine were in the bottom box and are marked. the flasher for turn signals and the emergency flashers are in the same box and if you turn the flashers on you can hear the relay clicking. should be a 20 amp. fuse.
