I have seen several posts on the Norcold refer problems but I had one problem I haven't see posted. When we bougt ours last year, occasionally we would here the beep-beep-beep warning on the refer and it was for a door being ajar. Well, the doors were closed tightly each time, but after we opened them and re-closed them, it was fine for a while. I discovered that the two light switches on the upper inside panel turn off the light when the door is closed. Our problem was a height adjustment on the door itself; it wasn't high enough to completely close the switch and if we hit some bumps(CA freeways are notorious for this), it would jar the door enough to set off the alarm. I ended up taking the door off and putting a thicker nylon washer on the bottom hinge which brought the door up just enough to where it is OK now. Just FYI for future reference.

Yep, I had to do the same thing. My first fix was to tape some cardboard to the top of the inside of the door where the switch gets pushed up....that worked too but the thicker washer is the way to go.

I think what happens is the weight of the door and the bouncing up/down bends the bottom bracket slightly.

Happy Trails,
Bill

I haven't had that happen but I'll keep it in mind for when it does.
Thanks

Good to know. I had the same on mine (1201) and "fixed" it by putting a small square of self-stick velcro cloth pad on the door where the switch hits, creating a raised buffer for the light switch. Has worked fine for 2 years now.

Yours sounds like a better permanent solution that I'll implement in the Spring.

Had the same problem and after many door adjustments, put new washers on bottom of doors also and no problem since. Thanks for sharing and the reinforcement of my fix.
